I am a music graduate and librarian.

I like playing the piano, reading, nostalgia, and thinking about gender.

This is where I write superficial analyses of things I like and regurgitate the opinions of others. Please leave comments.

Great story about The Umbrellas of Cherbourg! Stumbled upon it during my research and I took the liberty of quoting you in this article about the title sequence

  2. Gareth Says:

Thanks, Remco. What a great site! I’ll certainly visit regularly.

    Hi Gareth,

Just wanted to let you know that I’ve nominated you for a Liebster Award – a token of my appreciation and enjoyment of your wonderful blog. There is absolutely no obligation to participate, so please accept it as an honorary Liebster Award, if you’d prefer.

However, should you wish to throw yourself completely into the Liebster pond, the details are here:

    All the very best,

That is a great honour, and I am very flattered. I will participate in my own way (probably after the manner of Himadri). Watch this space…

That’s great, Gareth! Really glad you’d like to participate. Everyone doing this their own way is by far the best arrangement, I think. It makes for a freer and more comfortable approach to suit each blogger taking part – a kind of Liebster coat of many colours and styles! Looking forward to it!

    Hiya Gareth.
Steve Ayres here. I have just read your Appraisal about the College Band CD. Flattery will get you everywhere. Thank you. It was a moment in time that everything seemed right. It is one of my favorites too! If it was a polished production it would not have the same meaning or effect. I love the recording as you ‘can’ actually feel the pleasure from all you musos performing. If ever you want to get in touch it would be a pleasuer to hear from you and your exploits.

    Hiya Gareth.
Thank you for remembering my ”real” name. Now how can we get in touch, without pasting info all over the place.
I am glad you are still very much ”doing music” Any news of Daniel. Or anyone else. I am in touch with R.P.
